FAQ’S
My goal is to streamline this process and deliver a unique piece of art that celebrates your child and compliments your home. I will work you much in the same way as an interior designer. Together, we will choose the right size, color and style for your space.
Are these computer generated?
NO! These are one-of-a-kind personal pieces made by hand - by me;) I am an independent artist and will advise you on color, paper, sizes and frame choices. My goal is to narrow down the endless possibilities and streamline the process for you. The end result will be a special keepsake and piece of art that captures your child’s likeness and compliments your home’s interior.

How does the process work?
I work from a profile picture and will translate it into a rough sketch for approval. At this stage we can adjust any fly-away hair or tweak any facial features. Once you have approved the sketch we will finalize color and style. This is a totally custom, unique piece. There are no rules so the process should be fun and creative! We can discuss your preferences via phone or email. Together we will create a piece that captures your child’s personality and adds a creative, personal touch.
Do I need a professional photograph?
A snapshot with a smartphone is all that is needed and something you can easily do by following the tips below.
How do I take a picture of my child and get it to you?
It often helps to have one person taking the picture and another facing the child to give them something to focus on like your nose.
- Position your child in front of a solid, white wall with their shoulder touching the wall.
They should face squarely left or right with their chin level.
Stand about 4 feet away and hold the lens level with the child’s cheek.
Photographing young children can sometimes take a couple of tries, don’t get discouraged.
Chose a time when children are relaxed and not rushed.
For younger children, have them sit on the floor or in a chair while they are looking at a picture book that is held up at eye level.
Once you think you’ve got it, Email the photo and we will go from there.
Framed or unframed?
All paper cuts are delivered framed and ready to hang. I tend to use simple frames so the child is the art. Here are some of my favorites. There are many more possibilities available. See links below for more choices and inspiration.
What are my style and size choices?
I work in a square format with standard sizes being 12”x12” through 24”x24” finished, outside dimensions.
What are my choices?
-Framed, hand-cut paper
Available in wide variety of solid colors and neutral shades or patterned, handmade papers from around the world.
-Painted gallery canvas
-Gold, silver or copper leaf on canvas
-Plaster relief on canvas
What does gallery wrapped canvas mean?
A gallery wrapped canvas is stretched canvas over a wooden frame. I use frames that are (2.5” deep). The sides are free of staples and the corners of the canvas are folded and neatly tucked around the sides. The background color is painted around the side edges eliminating the need for a frame. These can, however, be framed if desired.
